In early April we blogged about our visit to the studio of psychedelic concert poster artist Bob Masse and his subsequent trip to our studio for a top secret art project we were working on. We also promised to reveal what it was when we could. Well, we’re pleased to say the launch campaign featuring reproductions of three of Mr. Masse’s original posters for U2, Jimi Hendrix and No Doubt is a big hit.
Dubbed “Metallic Experience“, the campaign for Hemlock
Printers launches MetalFX®, a revolutionary printing process that allows 615 metallic colours to be printed using just five. An admitted on-press experimenter, Mr. Masse was as enthusiastic about the new limited edition MetalFX posters as we were to play with a cool new technique. The posters presented a perfect opportunity to take something old and make it new again; a fitting metaphor for MetalFX. In addition to the posters, the campaign includes a Web site, direct mail, resource guide and special edition business cards.
