
It’s no secret that many designers, including us, have a real problem with the process used to select the Vancouver 2010 Olympics identity. But it’s done and now we have to live with it. However, some people are clearly still very annoyed with the logo choice.
Reminiscent of what The Yes Men did a couple years back with their parody of the WTO website, check out this very convincing parody protest website intended to stimulate debate and confuse visitors into thinking it’s the official 2010 Olympics site with provocative statments like
We’re honouring the original residents of our land. Who cares what the symbol looks like or whether anyone ‘likes the way it looks’. We’ve taken a lot from the Natives and this is a great way to give something back. It’s true they should have been consulted, but I’m sure that this will far exceed their expectations.
