
“The Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity has designated Montréal as “UNESCO City of Design” as part of the Creative Cities Network,” announced today Gérald Tremblay, Mayor of Montréal, and Benoit Labonté, member of the executive committee responsible for culture, heritage and design. Montréal has always been a hot bed of fashion, culture and design in Canada, but after having been chosen as the headquarters for the International Design Alliance (ICSID and ICOGRADA) and now North America’s first UNESCO City of Design, there’s no denying it’s position as the leader in Canada’s creative scene. Hopefully Vancouver is a close second!
