You just never know who’s going to walk in off the street. Especially when your office has a shady, beautiful garden inviting people to walk through your open door on a sunny afternoon. A few days ago a hip looking guy followed his dog in here who had decided he and Charlie (our blind dog) should be friends. Turns out he was Kuba, a singer/songwriter/producer/writer and lead man of Victoria’s enigmatic groove collective Velvet. He was in our ‘hood editing the new music video for his new hit “Never Meant To Hurt You” from his debut solo album, Ride On, for which he won the 2005 National Songwriting Competition Grand Prize in Toronto on March 5th. Very nice guy with huge talent – just how we like ‘em.
