Join in the fun as Capilano Suspension Bridge celebrates the Year of the Salmon. There will be free admission for the public between 10 and 11 am tomorrow (Saturday, June 18). The official celebration will get under way at 11:00 am with a welcome ceremony by the Northwind Dancers, followed by Master Carver Wayne Carlick beginning to carve a unique interactive story pole depicting the Legend of the Salmon and the Blind Man.
Throughout the park tomorrow there will be special salmon-themed activities including face painting, informative nature walks and entertainment. Be sure to take time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Vancouver’s oldest and most popular attraction as you venture across the 450 foot suspension bridge. On the far side experience the innovative and award-winning Treetops Adventure to get a squirrel’s eye view of the BC rainforest.
To recognize the important role that the salmon play in BC and at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, the park will donate $1.00 for every visitor to the Pacific Salmon Foundation. The Pacific Salmon Foundation is dedicated to the conservation, restoration and enhancement of pacific salmon in BC’s waterways. See you there!
