We have a terrible, but funny, habit of messing around with the crew when returning from a client presentation. You know…”How’d it go, man? Did they like it?” gets a response like “Ohhh…not good. Mark farted during the presentation” or “They hated it and we got into an argument.” It’s come to the point lately where we just don’t believe anyone freshly back from a pitch – especially because everyone loves our work! Duh! Well, on April first they got me good. Returning from a successful pitch to our client Hemlock Printers, Ben and Kevin explained that the presentation went great up to moment where the company’s owner fumbled and dropped our laptop. My retorts of “Yeah sure…” quickly cut short with a presentation of the shattered remains of our dead soldier. It wasn’t until well after I grilled them for details, felt bad for my client and started forming a gameplan to have the data recovered from the drive that I inspected the remains, realizing it wasn’t even our laptop. Turns out our tech-head Mac guru Mark Cohen was in on the joke and donated some parts to trick me. And I was just starting to get jazzed up about a brand new laptop! Happy April Fool’s Day to me.
